water polo...ness

so i decided since i lack in the land of updates this will be my 3 part series of what just happened in the last umm.. month.. well so here it goes. go grab some cookies and a cup of coffee or something and get ready for this. this is part one entitled 'water polo' which will be followed by 'friends and randomness' and to be concluded with 'other things that happened that dont fit in between there and i can't think of something more clever' ( might shorten that bit)

basically a quick little background to not get confused..

i play on the team ZVL which is in Leiden
i play with iefke and not with meike or karin
ZVL is the #1 team in the netherlands right now
we also play in the european cup which is with other top teams around europe
so when i fly to a foriegn land it is for the european cup
this is ZVL's first time in the european cup

okies that should be sufficient..

well we went to budapest for the first time and we played against some really good teams. funny thing was that we played against monica's team from germany. monica was my cute german friend from back in hawaii. we ended up winning against them which was a bit unusual. since they are considered really good but it was a good game. we ended up 2nd out of that tournament which was really good. that means that we advance to the next round. the bummish thing about the whole adventure was that we didn't get to see any nice bits of budapest. we were only in dunjavaros which is about 2 hours away from the centre. blah a little bummed about that but i am sure i will get back there one of these days.

when we get back within a few days we find out that we are going back to budapest! not in the same place, but somewhere closer to the centre. that is pretty cool. i was a bit excited about that. i was like yeah i can finally see some of it. but yup now we were an hour away from the centre :P so same story

this time we ended up doing really, really well! we played against this russsian team and ended up winning. they were some crazy team that has never lost a spot to the final 4 in like 3 million year or something. so that was pretty sweet to knock them out.

yeah had a migraine in the beginning of the trip, so yeah that was not a very nice treat. now we move on to the top 8 semi-finals!!

now that we have found out who we have to play in the semis and hey guess where it is? no, not in greece or italy or spain or ANYWHERE other than budapest. but yeah is in budapest! we ended up getting matched up against the 1st budapestian team that we played and now we must get rid of them to make it into the final 4. we have a really good chance at it, since we only lost by 1 to them. we will see how that goes!
